Another Liberal blogger

A long-time Liberal friend from B.C. has joined the blogsphere, with a blog called Women in politics.

She's been an active, loyal Liberal for many, many years and as she figures out this blogging thing she intends to focus on the role of women in politics and what can be done to bring more women into the political process.

It's an issue she has worked on tirelessly for many years, and I look forward to her perspective on that topic and all things political. Welcome!

do you think a woman should enter politics just because she is a woman... or would you rather someone who really care woman or man?

I would rather someone who really cares. I do feel though that there aren't enough women in politics, and we need more (qualfied) women (that care) to get involved. I think there are systemic reasons they don't and barriers to entry that we need to work to overcome.

At the end of the day, I want the best qualified people to be elected, and since more than half of the population are women I don't see why that can't be reflected in political life.
