As I look around at the many posts in the Liberal blogsphere at mid-Super Weekend discussing and prognosticating on the streaming delegate selection results, this video comes immeditately to mind. BTW, I hear Bob Rae is going to drop out on Monday and throw his support behind undecided. Clearly undecided has the momentum, having come out of nowhere, and, since Bob has already said these campaigns aren't about ideas and undecided has none, it's a natural fit. But seriously, I'll save my spinning till all the results are in. Clearly, though, everyone will drop out before Montreal to support Dion, since the trends indicate only he can win.Third place with a bullet, baby! |

You Spin Me Round

THANK YOU!
Someone else who thinks the spinning is just a little out of hand. I read how candidate X should drop out because candidate Z has got this in the bag. That was FRIDAY NIGHT!
Even with this weekend wrapped up, the race will be far from over.
Even now, with just over half of the meetings reported (Sunday morning) the spinning is endless. It kind of turns me off from some camps.
Agreed. The last week, in fact, has been all about hype. Even when I went to vote yesterday, there were supporters of various candidates, rushing at me from all directions - as if what? I might not yet know who I should vote for???
Once again, I'm reminded of the guesswork that goes into predicting, first of all, the kind of season the Canucks are going to have and later, who will win the Stanley Cup...
Heck, I can tell you that right now....! The Canucks will blast out of the starting gate, hold first place in the conference til the All Star break, nose dive to 8th and go out in the first round. Same for the Leafs, Senators and Habs.
Iggy, too, has blasted out of the gate, but....!!! LOL!!
Just between you and me Jeff, I heard from a friend of a friend, who went to college with a guy who served pizze to the cousin of a guy who works in the coffee shop below Ignatieff headquarters that Iggy is set to drop out and throw his support behind Volpe. Don't tell anyone though....
Indeed Darren, but I'd just caution though that I wouldn't judge any campaign by its blog supporters. Handsome, smart and witty though we all are. But I think some take it a touch too seriously, seeing themselves as warriors in a great blog crusade.
It's an unfair comparison Penny, because the Canucks are going to win the Stanley Cup. Otherwise, though, your comments are spot-on.
Zac, I'm reminded of a line from the movie Space Balls (which I hear is being made into a cartoon, groan):
Dark Helmet: Before you die, there is something you should know about us, Lone Starr.
Lone Starr: What?
Dark Helmet: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former room-mate.
Lone Starr: What's that make us?
Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing.
May the schwartz be with you all.
