maybe I'm missing but usually the people who hold levees are elected or appointed officials.
Gerard Kennedy is of course a former MPP but the former bit is important.
Next time I'm having a house party I'll just call it a levee I guess!
...or institutions, says wikipedia, maybe Gerard is a Toronto institution? He seems a bit young to be an institution, but he's well on his way.
For his support of Stephane Dion, I know exactly what kind of "institution" he is, and it ends in "ental"
