A BCer in Berlin

Expect little to no blogging from this corner for the next week or so. Later today I'm off to Berlin for a combination work trip and vacation. As excited I am to take in the sights in Berlin, a city I last visited in 1994 when it was undergoing a major post-unification construction boom, I'm almost as excited about being upgraded to business class on my Air Canada Toronto to Frankfurt flight, and having the chance to check out the pod suites on the new Boeing 777s. They look pretty sweet.

Oh, man. I travel a lot between Canada and Europe, and so I've walked past those pods a good four or five times now. So. Jealous.

That 1994 construction boom? Well, it's the 2008 construction boom. The cranes in front of the N+Brandenburg gate are an especially nice touch :-)

Biz class was sweet, delish multicourse meal, nice wine, and the lay-flat seats were pretty sweet. Just got a confired upgrade for the way back too, burning though my two SSWU certs but I don't fly trans-atlantic that much, better ti burn them here then YYZ-SFO.

Rat, went to Brandenberg Gate yesterday, didn't see any cranes at the moment. Further east though they're demolishing the former East German parliament, out with the old...
