First Liberal TV ad debuts

The Liberal Party has debuted its first TV ads, one in english and one en francais. Have a look:

It's on the Green Shift. Clean, simple, clear ad, good message. I like the fact they're leading with the economic argument: jobs, investment, lower taxes, economist approval. This is the tack we need to lead with when selling the Green Shift. Good ad.

If all you're seeing is a black screen, you either don't have the latest version of Adobe Flash, or you're using a 64-bit browser. I've been having the same problem with Firefox. I was able to get it to work in the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer, which you should have even if you're running the 64-bit edition of Windows Vista. I'm told the LPC is aware of, and working on the issue. If you're unable to view the embed, you can still view it on the site.

Not bad at all. Is it my imagination or is that add shorter than the Harper fireside chat series of ads or not?

I went back and checked, both are 30 seconds. Perhaps time just seemed to pass more slowly watching Uncle Steve...

I've been hearing the Tories are attempting to overwhelm Liberal sites & blogs.

Well, I'm feeling rather underwhelmed so far, but it's only day one.

I tried to be even handed and show this video on my blog, but gave up because I couldn't get it to work properly. Blogger kept giving an html error message. This does not bode well. Do you not think they could have just put this up on Youtube?

greg,

They seem to want to stick with the embed route. I've informed them of the problems bloggers have been having with it, and how counterproductive this is. They're aware, and they say they're working in it. I hope they get it sorted out.

As I said on Cherniak's blog. They have to get the one from thegreenshift.ca site on tv. Not the clapping one but the other one that's similar to this. It's a very well done ad that will make a difference.

It does work in Safari for Mac just fine, but I agree, it needs to be on Youtube.
