He handled himself especially well in the CBC interview. A more mellow, relaxed persona probably works better for him.

Those were pretty good interviews.

There was a time when I would listen to Ignatieff and my stomach would churn a little bit as I waited for him to go off (even when he did not) Oh no there he goes!

That's not a severe criticsm because its not a permanent condition. It has to do with experience as a politician, I suspect. When I watched these interviews, I noticed that I did not feel nervous about what he was going to say. I think he has improved in staying on message and I feel alot more comfortable with him.

He has such a slow pace of speaking which for many would be dangerous because it allows the listerner to allocate the cognitive resources to really judge the statements one by one. Ignatieff has the intellectual strength and depth of reflexion to pull this off and its impressive.

I didn't like the last 20 seconds or so of the second interview as much, but pfff you can't please everyone all the time.

This is not an endorsement of Ignatieff. I have not made up my mind. But there are alot of good things to say about him.

Is Jane Taber that superfical in real life or just professionally in the program?

She is better advised to stick to What's Hot and What's Not.

Taber's shallow and obtuse questioning brought out a superior Ignatieff, imho. He obviously doesn't suffer a fool gladly.
