The Globe's Washington corespondent, John Ibbitson, misses Canadian politics. American politics is so nasty, he laments. People (gasp!) lie! And say nasty things! And no one cares! Oh, how he misses Canadian politics.
Umm, really John, were you paying attention when you were up here in the Great White North? That's such a short-sighted statement I can't even begin to document the lunacy. What, with our secret plan to implement five kinds of tax increases on everything in the short time we're just visiting before getting back to our vacation villas in the south of France where we'll talk about how much we hate the troops.
Come on, John. Seriously.

Really, John Ibbitson? Really?

Well, in fairness, the Americans do tend to go a little farther than us in their... "nastiness."
But to suggest that Canadians care less because we are less prone to ludicrous hyperventilating is, well, not only half-false but kind of silly.
