Yeah, take that Ahmadinejad!

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was sworn-in for another term as Iranian president this week, despite the obvious and serious questions about the legitimacy of his win that have sparked massive street protests by the Iranian people and global condemnation.

Not to worry though, Iranian democracy activists. We've got your back:

The U.S., Britain, Canada, France and Germany all said they wouldn't send congratulatory letters, and only Britain and the European Union sent diplomatic representatives to Wednesday's ceremony.
No congratulatory letter for you Mahmoud, take that! How do you like them apples? Bitter, isn't it! Many of us also made our twitter pics green, I'm sure that was a big help too.

But seriously, yes, I know the options of the Western powers here are pretty limited, no matter what John McCain might have sung about. But I just found the no letters thing amusing. So did Mahmoud, btw:
"Nobody in Iran is waiting for anyone's congratulations," Ahmadinejad said in a post-ceremony speech to parliamentarians, several of whom chuckled at that remark.
And since Mahmoud has such a great sense of humour, I'm sure he'll enjoy this:

Yeah! The little dictator sure doesn't care about such trivial matters! A liar AND a hypocrite to boot!

You're sitting there, and you think you're getting the whole story on this and then BAM - somebody sends you something out of the blue.

Personally I like Al Jazeera English's coverage of the Iranian election.
