New Liberal ads are online

The Liberals and Justin Trudeau now have ads of their own, and they stand in stark contrast to the negative Conservative personal attack ads of last week. Take a look:

And a French ad that's a little different visually:

Have to run; I'll have some thoughts later.

I like that the English one directly shows the CPC attack ad - nice contrast.

Thanks for posting the french ad! It's quite different, but I like it as well (as the English one).

@ch: I think it's too reactive. It shows that the LPC is trying to respond to the CPC. Worse, it will encourage people to look at the original CPC ads to find out what he's talking about.

And yet, this ad doesn't respond to anything in the CPC ad - most importantly, it doesn't say anything to address the deadly "Quebeckers are better than other Canadians" quote.

I don't think correcting out of context misquotes would be a good use of a 30 second national tv spot. He dismisses their premise entirely, and pivots to his message.

You're probably right that it would be a bad idea to spend this spot directly refuting the CPC, but I don't think it's a good idea to show the CPC ad at all (note how the French version doesn't make this mistake).

The Quebec quote is, however, something he's going to have to address at some point. It's poison.
