Maurice Vellacott says the darndest things about abortion

I may need to make this "darndest things" thing a regular feature. Maurice Vellacott, a Conservative MP from Saskatchewan, released a press release last Friday about how great it is that it's getting hard to get an abortion in his province due to a shortage of doctors, and also commenting on criticisms the cut-off date for performing the procedure is too early in pregnancy.

No surprises there. But here's the line in Vellacott's release that caught my eye:

Pro-life feminists have also come to see abortion as part of a male agenda to have women more sexually available.
Really, Maurice? I mean, really?

That's about the dumbest thing I've read in some time.

Vellacot is a proto-fascist Christaliban wing nut. Anything the man says counts as "the darndest" thing.

He most clearly represents the evil that is the Conservatives Party.

Saskatchewaqn has set the cut off date at 12 weeks to perform abortions?

3 months, sounds reasonable.

Great post! Vellacott continues to be an embarrassment to people who live in Saskatchewan. Just for the record, my MP is Tom Lukiwski.

The frightening thing is... that that is an improvement, or at least the lesser evil.

Sad that Vellacott is now only getting national attention. Where was the national media when Vellacott was blaming the freezing death of aboriginal men found outside of Saskatoon on a mysterious drinking shack. When it ended up being the police who would release aboriginal individuals on the outskirts of Saskatoon and make them walk back into the city.

Vellacot is a bigoted chauvinistic bastard and how he got elected is beyond me. Evil is a pretty good word for him. Not the brightest bulb either. He is arrogant bastard that fits well with the Harper government. He's a sorry specimen of a human being.

If any of you could actually disprove any of the truths that Vellacot said you wouldnt have to slogan him with names you think discredit him. such as proto-facist or Christaliban. I mean its obvious the tactics of the right wing movement is to demonize people who tell the truth, but please come up with actual comebacks other then "conservative bad, Liberal good'. The only problem I see you little babies having with the conservatives is they believe in right and wrong and you think that is restrictive to your freedom of doing whatever the fuck you want. Grow up there are responsibilities once you get out of diapers.
