Last night's Grey's Anatomy

Didn't notice any Conservative attack ads during last night's Grey's Anatomy, but I was too busy worrying about Meridith to pay too much attention to the commercials.

A powerful and emotional episode, even though it was clear they were never going to kill off their title character. Still, quite an emotional journey for Meridith, although she just won't be the same without the dark and twisty. Was a nice moment with her mother though, it will be interesting to see where things go for her from here. I'm glad she finally had some sense smacked into her though, her self pity was becoming annoying.

And what's with Izzy and George? Izzy really needs to smarten-up a bit here and at least try to make nice with Callie, she's coming off like quite a bitch here. And what's this I hear about a Grey's spinoff in May for Dr. Addison Montgomery-Sheppard? Guess she's out of the running for Chief. Judging by last night's episode she may be taking McSteamy with her. But what about Alex...

Anyway, I'm just glad Meridith pulled through, because I'm sure if she'd died Steve Harper would have found a way to blame it on the Liberals, and demand an apology from Stephane Dion.

I've got to say, I didn't think it was REMOTELY emotional. In fact, just last week one of my friends joked that they were going to have Meredith's mom crash in the hospital so that Meredith and her mom could bond in the afterlife. He was TOTALLY joking about how idiotic T.V. can sometimes be. Neither of us though any show would be so lame.

I almost fell off the couch when the elder Dr. Grey started to seize.

I had held out hope they were actually going to kill Meredith. Not much, but THAT would have been drama. THAT would have been emotional. I just thought last night's episode was silly.

My wife and I were both hoping they would kill off Meredith, who is easily the most boring and annoying character in the show. Shallow, self-absorbed, always obsessing over relationships -- She is Carrie Bradshaw with a medical degree. Of course, I knew they wouldn't kill off the title character, but as a consolation would it be too much to ask to spin her off to her own show, so we could see her less, and allow us to spend more time with the characters who are actually interesting?

Reading your blog on Grey's anatomy is all I can stand ,I stopped watching the show last year because Merdith is a shallow, self absorbed character. The best actress on the show is Sandra Oh, but I still don't watch it anymore.
Hero's is my "new" best TV series. Hiro my Hero.

Sandra Oh was great! The episode itself was too much like Buffy.

Although I must confess, I was emotional watching Denny and Izzie, then again I am emotional these days;)

Maybe they should have killed her off, but kept her around in voiceovers a la Desperate Housewives. That would have been interesting...

Anyway, yeah, I'm glad someone finally smacked some sense into Mer, and hopefully it takes. Boo hoo, I'm a hot young doctor with a surgeon boyfriend and a big house, my life is so bad booo....
